Flashback Friday #2 - Bleed American

FLASHBACK FRIDAY IS A WEEKLY SHORT BLURB ABOUT AN OLDER RELEASE I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING AND THINK YOU SHOULD ALL LISTEN TO AS WELL. THIS IS NOT A REVIEW, AS MUCH AS A, "HEY, REMEMBER HOW GOOD THIS IS? NO? WELL LISTEN AGAIN!"

This week, the flashback pick is one that stems from a different album. I recently heard the limited edition live cd Jimmy Eat world is putting out and as soon as, "Sweetness," began, I was furiously digging for my copy of this album. Bleed came out in July 2001 and was changed to simply a self-titled release following the 9/11 attacks. However, all politics aside, this is an album chock full of single worthy tracks. From the up tempo start with, "Bleed American," to the fan favorite, "Your House," this album is one you;re sure to spin over and over. It's perfect not only for a solo listen, but also works with groups because, as with any Jimmy Eat World album, the songs make you want to sing along and the lyrical abilities of Jim Adkins allow for vocal participation to come easy. The songs are deep, but kept simple. The perfect soundtrack for whatever your doing today.

Suggested listening:
"Bleed American"
"Sweetness"
"The Middle"
